Those named in the team are Akash Gupta, Antim Thapa, Sagar Khadka, Amrit Bhattarai, Lal Bahadur Adhikari, Rom Shrestha, Chandra Sawad, Sunny Pun, Anupam Singh, Subash Pradhan, Rupesh Srivastav, Anil Kumar Mandal and Prithu Baskota.

Four alternative players for the event are Hasim Ansari, Naresh Budayar, Navin Shahi and Rahul Kumar BK.

CAN member Shailesh Kumar Chaudhary will manage the team while coach Roy Dias will be assisted by Mahesh Rijal.

The team was selected by the national selection committee headed by chief coach Arun Kumar Aryal.

Slight improvement on Nepal’s FIFA ranking April 17, 2009

The FIFA world ranking published on April 08,2009 says that Nepal has inclined 3 steps to be at position 169. This is Nepal’s 3rd consecutive increase in ranking in the year 2009. Nepal had been in position 174, 173 and 172 in the month of January, February and March respectively. With this increase, Nepal is now in position 4th in South Asia Region. India is leading the region in position 147, following India is Maldives and then Srilanka.
